In the quiet rhythm of Jeevandhara Ashram, community is not merely a gathering of people—it is a communion shaped by silence, beauty, and prayer. Each member of our Ashram carries a unique story, a distinct gift, and a way of being that nourishes the contemplative life we share.
Companions in Silence introduces the people who hold this sacred space: those who pray, work, teach, create, and accompany others on the path of stillness. Their lives weave together the spiritual, artistic, and ascetic threads that make Jeevandhara a home of deep listening and gentle presence.
Here, we invite you to meet the faces and voices behind the quiet work of the Ashram—those who, through their vocation and witness, help the mountain become a place of encounter.

Dr. Sebeesh Jacob Vettiyadan CMI
Icon Artist | Liturgical Theologian | Contemplative Ascetic
A theologian formed at the intersection of Christian mysticism, aesthetic contemplation, and cultural imagination, Sebeesh Jacob studies and teaches Aesthetics, Christian Art, and Liturgical Theology. His academic journey has taken him from India’s diverse religious landscapes to KU Leuven, Belgium, where he pursued advanced research in Christian and cultural studies.
He teaches in several philosophy and theology faculties across India and abroad, accompanying students and scholars in exploring the beauty, depth, and ethical force of the Christian tradition.
At Jeevandhara Ashram, Sebeesh holds a vision of contemplative community life shaped by art, beauty, and silence—a way of living where aesthetics forms character, community fosters ethical flourishing, and prayer becomes the ground of both.
His work integrates icon-writing, liturgical reflection, and contemplative asceticism, inviting all who come to the Ashram to discover a spirituality that is at once simple, profound, and luminous.
